The LLM Providers screen lists the AI providers your account can use to power the AI Assistant. A provider is the service that answers the questions, such as OpenAI, Anthropic or an Ollama server you run. You keep the API key here; sub-accounts that you grant AI to use it without ever seeing it. To open the screen, in the side menu, select LLM Providers.
The page shows "Settings" above the title, LLM Providers, and the lead "Connect your own LLM provider keys. Sub-accounts you grant AI to use them without ever seeing the key."
Until you add a provider, the screen says "No AI providers yet. Add one with your own API key, then grant AI to your sub-accounts from their account form." The list holds your own providers and the one your parent account passed down to you, if any.
| Column | Shows |
|---|---|
| Name | The provider's name. A provider passed down to you carries the tag "Inherited from" and the account's name. |
| Type | OpenAI, OpenAI compatible, Anthropic (Claude), Google Gemini or Ollama. |
| Default model | The model the provider uses unless an account picks another. A dash when none is set. |
| State | Enabled or Disabled, and the tag Default on your default provider. The tag Needs setup marks a key saved without a monthly pool cap, or a default key without a default model. Hover over it to read what is missing. |
| Last test | "Never tested", OK or Failed after the last connection test. A dash on inherited providers. Hover over Failed to read the reason. |
The last column holds the row actions. An inherited provider has none.
| Action | What happens |
|---|---|
| Add provider | Opens the form for a new provider. See LLM provider form. |
| Refresh icon | Reloads the list. |
| Edit icon on a row | Opens the form for that provider. Without the Edit permission, the icon is an eye and the form is read-only. |
| Delete icon on a row | Asks "Delete" followed by the provider's name and "Its key is discarded and cannot be recovered." Select Delete to confirm. |
A key tagged Needs setup still serves accounts. Without a pool cap, the platform default cap applies, shared by every account billed to the key. Open the key and complete it before you change anything else on it. See LLM provider form.
You cannot delete a provider while an account still uses it. The dialog then says "is still granted to these accounts. Change or disable their AI access first:", names them and offers Close. Change or switch off AI on each of those accounts in its account form, then delete again.
With Edit on the AI provider module, the list has a checkbox column. Inherited providers have no checkbox.
Clear selection clears every checkbox.
