Edit a route when a stop is added, dropped or moved. Clone it to make a variation without rebuilding the checkpoints.
- To edit you need Routes > Edit. To clone you need Add. The Owner role has both.
- You can edit only routes of your own account. A route shared from an account above yours offers View and Clone only.
- In the side menu, select Reference Data > Routes.
- In the route's row, open the row menu and choose Edit.
The Edit route form opens with the checkpoints listed and drawn on the map.
- Change what you need:
- Drag a row, or use Move up, Move down or Move to position… in its row menu, to change the order.
- Select the cross on a row to remove a checkpoint, or Select to remove several.
- Use Point on map, Geofences, Units or Import to add checkpoints at the end.
- Choose Insert after this on the map in a row menu to add map points after that checkpoint.
- Select the r button on a row to change its arrival radius.
- Select Save route.
The message "Route updated successfully" appears and the list opens.
To change the name, description, label or sharing, edit the same fields. Reset undoes everything since the form opened. See the Route form.
If you removed checkpoints that a schedule uses, a warning titled "Schedules may need review" appears when you save. It names the schedules. The route still saves. In the route's list, those schedules carry the Needs review badge.
For each one:
- Select the route's name to expand it.
- In the schedule's row menu, choose Edit.
- Open the Checkpoint timing step and compare it with the route's current checkpoints.
- Fix the times and save.
- In the route's row, open the row menu and choose Clone.
The New route form opens with the checkpoints of the original. The name has " copy" added.
- In Route Name, enter a new name.
- Select Save route.
The clone appears in the list. It has no schedules.
Alert rules and reports that use the route read its new checkpoints. After you edit a schedule, the rides explorer recalculates that schedule's rides.
