This page lists what the Wialon migration creates and what it leaves out. For the steps, see Migrate units from Wialon.
| Field | Required | What it does | Allowed values / example | Notes |
|---|---|---|---|---|
| Hosting / Local version | Yes | Chooses which Wialon the app signs in to. | Hosting or Local version | Hosting by default. The choice is saved per account. |
| Wialon base URL | Conditional | The address of your own Wialon server. | A full http or https address. Example: https://your-wialon-server.com | Shows with Local version only, and starts with https://hosting.wialon.com/. An address that is not http or https, or is empty, is refused. |
If you enter an address that begins with hosting., the app reads the Wialon data from the matching hst-api. address, as Wialon Hosting regions do. A server that is not on that pattern is used as entered.
Per Wialon unit, the app creates or updates:
| In Wialon | In the app | Notes |
|---|---|---|
| Unit name | Unit name and device name | The device name limit applies: 3 to 50 characters. A name outside it fails, and the log says so. |
| Unique ID | The device's Unique Identifier | If a device with that identifier exists, the app updates it instead of creating one. |
| Active flag | The device's Status | ACTIVE when Wialon has the unit active, otherwise INACTIVE. |
| Phone numbers | SIM Number 1 and SIM Number 2 | No operator is filled in. |
| Last position | The unit's starting position | — |
| Sensors | The device's sensors | See below. A GPS sensor is always added. |
Every migrated device gets the Time Zone UTC and one fixed device model that the installation sets for migrations. The unit belongs to your account.
Redo these by hand, or copy them from a reference device with Copy a configuration from one unit to others.
The app maps each Wialon sensor by its type. The value expression of the new sensor reads the same parameter name, written as a raw parameter of the device.
| Wialon sensor type | Sensor type in the app |
|---|---|
| Engine operation | IGNITION |
| Voltage | VOLTAGE |
| Custom | CUSTOM |
| Digital | DIGITAL |
| Fuel level | FUEL |
| Engine hours | ENGINE_HOURS |
| Mileage | ODOMETER |
| Odometer | RELATIVE_ODOMETER |
| Engine RPM | ENGINE |
| Temperature | TEMPERATURE |
| Weight sensor | WEIGHT |
For what these types hold, see Sensor types. The sensor name and description come from Wialon. The sensor is visible in the unit's popup if Wialon showed it there. The measurement unit and, for a fuel sensor, the tank capacity come from the Wialon sensor. A calibration table is copied as it is.
These Wialon types have no match. The app skips them and lists them in the unit's log under "Unsupported sensors":
Add the equivalent sensors by hand on the device. See Add a sensor.
The Migration of units from Wialon screen lists the units Wialon returned.
| Column | Shows |
|---|---|
| Unit Name | The Wialon unit name, with a tick box. |
| Migration Status | "Imported" or "Not imported". |
| Check Logs | The Details button, which opens the log of that unit. |
The log of a unit lists the steps in order: "Decoding unit info for creating device", then "Creating device" or "Updating device", then "Creating unit" or "Updating unit". A failed unit adds the error.
