The bell icon at the top right of every screen opens the notification centre. It collects alerts, chat messages, finished reports and other events in one list. It also shows the progress of files the app prepares for you in the background.
The red badge on the bell counts the unread notifications in the account you work in, plus the tasks still running.
Each notification shows an icon for its kind, a title, a short text and how long ago it arrived. A notification from another of your accounts also shows that account's name.
| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| This account | Shows only the notifications of the account you work in. This is the default. |
| All accounts | Shows the notifications of every account your user belongs to. When other accounts have unread notifications, the chip reads "{n} in other accounts" instead. |
| Unread | Shows only notifications you have not read yet. Select it again to show all. |
| Mark all read | Marks every notification in the current view as read. |
| The cross on a notification | Deletes that notification. |
| Show older | Loads the next, older part of the list. |
If you open a notification from another of your accounts, the app switches to that account first and then opens the item.
Some work takes a while, such as exporting a report or importing devices. The app does it in the background, so you can keep working.
When you export a report as PDF, Excel or CSV, the panel opens on the Tasks tab by itself. The task moves through these states:
| State | What is happening |
|---|---|
| Queued | The task waits until your current task finishes. |
| Generating | The server builds the file. The bar shows a percentage and the rows written when the server reports them. |
| Downloading | The browser fetches the finished file. The bar shows a percentage and the size. |
| Downloaded | The file is in your browser's downloads. Select the task to Download again. |
| Failed | The task did not finish. The reason shows under the task name. |
| Cancelled | You stopped the task. |
You do not have to select Download when an export is ready: the app fetches the file as soon as the server finishes it. If that fetch fails, the task says so in red; select the task to try again. A file over 200 MB goes to the browser's own download manager instead, so the bar shows no percentage.
How to start a report export is in Export a report.
When a report you exported or scheduled is ready, a "Report ready" notification arrives. Select it to download the file where you are; the app does not take you to another screen. If the report has no file, for example because it is a saved view, the app opens Saved Reports instead.
Browser notifications reach you even when the app's tab is in the background. Each browser asks for permission once.
The link shows only while the browser has not decided yet and your installation supports browser notifications. If you blocked notifications earlier, allow them in your browser's site settings; the app cannot ask again. You can also use the Notifications switch in your profile.
Selecting a browser notification opens the app on the same item as the notification centre would.
Your choice applies to your user only. An account owner can also turn off push for chat messages for the whole account; see Account Settings.
