You see one of these:
- A report runs but has no rows, or leaves out units you selected.
- Cells show a dash (—) where you expect figures.
- The Generate screen shows a notice that it is recalculating the stored figures for the range.
- A saved report shows old figures.
- A dashboard widget reads "No data for this widget yet", or shows red text with a Correlation ID.
- A widget you expect is missing from a dashboard.
- Nothing happened in the period, or zero rows are hidden
- The period or time zone is not what you expect
- The units cannot answer this template
- The unit had no device fitted in the period
- Recent data is still being processed
- A filter in the template removes the rows
- Saved reports do not recompute
- The report engine is unavailable
- A widget cannot load
- A widget is missing because of your role
- The template is no longer allowed on this dashboard
A unit that did not drive, park or fill up in the period has no records. A list of trips or fillings then has no row for it.
Fix
- On the Generate screen, turn on Show zero-activity units.
Each selected unit with nothing in the period gets a zero row. The option shows only when a table has one row per unit.
- If you need trips that are still going, turn on Include intervals still in progress.
Reports use the time zone of your account settings, so a day can start at an hour that is not midnight for you.
Check
- Read the Date range and its times.
- Read the account's time zone in Account Settings.
Fix
- Set the range again, with the start and end times under the calendars.
- If the account's time zone is wrong, see Times or measurement units look wrong.
Many sources need a sensor on the unit's device. Fuel sources need a fuel level sensor, and engine hours from a counter need an engine hours sensor. A unit without the sensor still appears in the report, but its cells show a dash. A dash means no sensor; a zero means the sensor measured nothing.
Check
- On the template card in the library, select the line "Available on n of m units".
It shows which units lack which sensor.
- On the Generate screen, read the warning that names the units without the sensor.
Fix
- Select the exclude button in the warning to leave those units out, or Continue anyway to keep them with dashes.
- To get figures, a dealer adds the missing sensor to the device. See Add a sensor.
See Where report data comes from.
A unit reads data only from the devices fitted to it, and only for the time they were fitted. A unit with no device in the period reads nothing, even if a device sent messages then.
Check
- Open the unit's details and look at its device cards.
- On the map, the unit's Log tab shows when someone added or removed a device.
Fix
- Add the device to the unit. See Add or remove a unit's devices.
The app recalculates the unit's reports for past days.
The app stores trips, parkings, fuel events and similar records as messages arrive. When someone changes a sensor, a trip setting or the devices on a unit, it recalculates the stored records for the affected period. While that runs, or for a period it never calculated, the Generate screen shows a notice and a choice:
| Choice |
What it does |
| Compute it now |
Queues the missing part and runs the report when it is ready. Offered only for a range that was never calculated. |
| Prioritise and wait |
Moves the recalculation forward and runs the report when it finishes. |
| Use stored data |
Runs now. Rows for the missing part are absent, and the report says so. |
| Run without it |
Stops waiting and runs with the stored figures. |
Fix
- Choose Prioritise and wait if you need complete figures, or Use stored data if you need the report now.
- If the app answers "Only an account administrator can recalculate stored figures", ask an administrator. For a range the app never calculated, Compute it now works for you too.
- If the notice says the calculation service is not processing these units, waiting does not help. Use Compute it now, and tell support@getgps.eu.
A template can carry filters under Filters in the builder, for example distance greater than 10. Rows that fail the filter never reach the report.
Check
- Open the template in the builder.
- Read the filter rows under Filters.
Fix
- Remove or loosen the filter.
- Save the template.
- For a system template, save a copy first; system templates cannot change.
See Group, filter and total report rows.
A file in Saved reports holds the figures from the moment it ran, and the template as it was then. Later recalculations do not change it.
Fix
- In Saved reports, select Regenerate on the entry.
The Generate screen opens with the same template and period.
- Choose the units and select Generate Report.
See Saved reports and background tasks.
The message "Report engine unavailable" means the service that computes tracking reports is not running, or the app cannot reach it. Fleet-records reports, such as devices, SIM cards and maintenance, still work.
Fix
- Try again in a few minutes.
- If it persists, contact support@getgps.eu.
"No data for this widget yet" means the widget loaded, but its period and scope returned no rows. Red text with a Correlation ID means the server refused or failed; the text is the server's message.
Check
- Read the widget's footer: the scope, the period and when it last loaded.
- Read the red text, if any. For example, "Selected account is not accessible for you" means the widget covers an account your user cannot see.
Fix
- For no data, choose a longer Period in the widget's Configure dialog, or widen Widget scope.
An empty Widget scope means every unit the account owns.
- For an account you cannot see, ask the dashboard's owner to change the widget, or ask for access to that account.
- For any other red text, select the refresh icon. If it stays, send the Correlation ID to support@getgps.eu.
See Dashboard screen and Widget settings.
A widget whose template reads data your role may not use is left off the dashboard for you. Other users still see it.
Fix
- Ask the Owner of your account which permission the template needs, and to add it to your role.
See Un-authorized action, or you cannot change an item.
A personal dashboard can carry system templates and your own templates. An account dashboard can carry system and account templates. An older widget that breaks this rule shows "This widget's template cannot be used on this dashboard. Choose another one to make the widget work again."
Fix
- In the widget's Configure dialog, choose a template from the list.
The list offers only templates that fit the dashboard.
- Select Save.
Contact support@getgps.eu with:
- The template name and the period, with the time zone.
- The units you selected.
- The exact message, with any Correlation ID.
- A screenshot of the Generate screen or the widget.
