Devices or units? This page is about devices, the tracking hardware installed in a vehicle or on an asset. For the vehicles and assets on the map, see Units. For the difference, see Devices and units.
The Devices list shows every device your account can see. Each row gives the device's identifier, model, SIM cards, status and groups, and the account that has it now. To open it, in the side menu, select Devices.

| Control | What it does |
|---|---|
| Search box, marked 1 | Shows only devices whose name, identifier, model, firmware version, status or SIM number contains what you enter. Case does not matter. |
| Owner account, marked 2 | Shows only the devices that one account owns: yours or one below yours. |
| Allocated account, marked 3 | Shows only the devices allocated to one account below yours. |
| Clear filter, marked 4 | Empties the search and both account filters. Unavailable until you set one. |
The two account filters appear only if your role can read the accounts below yours.
The list reloads as you type or choose, and goes back to page 1. The address bar keeps your search, filters, page and page size, so you can reload the page or share the address without losing the view.
On a narrow window, the filters fold into a panel. Open it with the filter button next to the search box; a number on the button counts the filters in use. In the panel, Clear all empties every filter and Show results closes the panel.
| Column | What it shows |
|---|---|
| Checkbox | Selects the device for an action on many devices. See Act on many devices at once. |
| Device Name | The device's name and, below it, its unique identifier, usually the IMEI. |
| allocated to | The account that has the device now. |
| Model | The model and, next to it, the firmware version. |
| sim cards | The number and operator of each SIM card in the device, or a dash. |
| Status | ACTIVE, INACTIVE, DAMAGED or BLOCKED. See Device general settings. |
| labels | The device's groups. Select the last pill to see or change them. |
| Actions | The row actions your role allows. See Row actions. |
The list sorts the rows by device name. The labels column shows only if your role can read groups.

| Action | When it shows | What it does |
|---|---|---|
| Allocation, marked 1 | Roles with Devices > Edit, on devices in ACTIVE status, unless your account has Restrict Sub Accounts on | Opens the allocation dialog for the device. See Allocate a device to another account. |
| Edit, marked 2 | Roles with Devices > Edit, on devices your account or an account below yours owns, and on devices allocated to your account | Opens the device's settings. See Edit a device. |
| Clone, the copy icon | Roles with Devices > Add | Opens the Add Device wizard filled in from this device. See Clone a device. |
| View, marked 3 | Roles with Devices > Read | Opens the device's settings read-only. |
| Delete, marked 4 | Roles with Devices > Del, on the same devices as Edit | Asks "Are you sure?", then deletes the device. See Delete a device. |
Delete shows on more devices than you can delete. The server deletes only devices your own account owns. See Device ownership and allocation.

Add Device is a split button:
Add Device needs Devices > Add. Import Devices also needs Import/Export > Import.
Export, left of Add Device, saves the devices you selected as a file. It offers two formats:
The export takes only ticked rows. Until you tick at least one device, both formats are unavailable and the menu reads "Select rows to export". A line at the foot of the menu says what goes in the file, for example "The 3 selected records". After Select all {n} matching, the file holds every matching device except the ones you unticked.
The checkbox column shows only to roles that can run at least one action on many devices. Without it, you cannot tick rows, so Export stays unavailable.
The file has these columns: Device Name, the identifier, allocated to, Model, the firmware version, sim cards, Status and labels.
| Message | Cause |
|---|---|
| "Too many records to export" | The export holds more than 10,000 rows for Excel, or more than 2,000 for PDF. Narrow the selection or the filters. |
| "Exporting part of the list" | The server sent fewer rows than match. The file holds what arrived; the message gives both numbers. |
| "Nothing to export" | No device matched. |
Select devices with the checkboxes in the first column, then pick an action in the bar that appears above the table. The column shows only if your role can run at least one of these actions.

| Action | What it does | Who sees it |
|---|---|---|
| Allocation | Opens the allocation dialog once for all selected devices. Choose the account, then select Allocate. | Roles with Devices > Edit, unless your account has Restrict Sub Accounts on |
| Add labels | Adds the groups you pick to every selected device and keeps their other groups. Type a new name to create a group. | Roles with Devices > Edit and Labels > Add |
| Remove labels | Removes the groups you pick and keeps the other groups. | Roles with Devices > Edit and Labels > Del |
| Delete | Deletes the selected devices. You cannot undo it. | Roles with Devices > Del |
| Clear selection | Clears every checkbox. | Everyone who sees the checkboxes |
Things to know:
The footer shows the number of devices, Entries (10, 20 or 30 rows per page) and the pages. If no device matches, the list reads "No devices match these filters".
